.Ground for Sun-drying Fish
Food
Position: Zuoli Lane, Magong City
Introduction:
Zuoli Lane is a typical fishing village and most people in the olden days lived by fishing. They boiled freshly caught fish in special big pots on wood (later coal). Then the fish was spread on bamboo mats, dried in the sun and sold to Taiwan Island. Later, the techniques were improved and the fish was steamed in a boiler. This way people could handle a great amount of fish in one go and the dried fish was more delicious and cleaner. Every summer when there is a big catch, fish drying can be seen everywhere.

.Handmade Noodles
Food

Position: Siwei Lane, Magong City
Introduction:
The traditional handmade noodles of Siwei Lane have a history going back three to four hundred years. The people of Penghu would use any spare time during agricultural and fishing work to make flour into noodles, which could be preserved for a long time. The traditional handmade method has been passed down to the present. The complicated noodle-making process includes fifteen steps. But it’s worth it. Handmade noodles are more pliable and delicious.
